Lucknow: On Sunday, in a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, two patients in home isolation were found dead. As per the report, two COVID positive patients’ bodies were recovered after a foul smell emanated from the decomposing bodies.

The bodies have been identified and is reportedly believe to be of 60-year-old Arvind Goel and his son. The report also suggests that the man who’s mentally ill was also found alive in the same house.

A similar incident in UP

As India continues to fight against the second wave of COVID-19, in another incident, Lucknow witnessed a heart-wrenching similar incident from the same locality when a 35-year-old Vivek Sharma, another COVID positive patient alone at home isolation was found dead. As per the report, when neighbours complained about the foul smell, the authorities discovered that the body was decomposing inside the house.

Coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh

As India is witnessing a surge in the number of daily coronavirus cases, one of the key contributors to in rise in COVID numbers is Uttar Pradesh. As per the Union Health Ministry data, the state has recorded 30,317 new cases of COVID in the last 24 hours. UP also reported 303 more deaths due to the deadly contagious virus.

According to the state health bulletin official data, a total of 3,01,833 active cases present in UP, while the number of cured/discharged/migrated cases stands at 9,67,797.
